Manager's Experience

Founded in 2016 in Toronto, Canada, as the MaRS Catalyst Fund, and spun out of MaRS Discovery District in 2019. Led by Kathryn Wortsman (Managing Partner), a former investment banker and founder of Social Venture Partners Toronto, and Craig Hunter (Partner). Manages three impact funds, most recently a $43M (C$60M) Fund III backed by Fondaction, RBC, BDC and the Government of Canada. Portfolio includes Hydrostor, Inkblot (acquired by Green Shield) and Cura, and the firm reports top-decile distributions across its first two funds. Focused on pre-seed to Series A climate, health and work technology in Canada and the United States.
